What I’ve Been Watching (1)

With a lot of the regular TV shows on break since November I figured I would go over some the things that have been keeping me busy as far as TV goes.

Dexter //  I finally finished my Dexter binge right around the holidays. As much as I loved this show the last two seasons were meh and man the finale STUNK. I had heard that coming in but I can confirm it now. Still I am not mad I started it because I liked it a lot – up until that very bad ending.

Project Runway // Oh  love me some Project Runway. I liked this season a lot and checking in with Michelle over at Pink Polka Dot Books on Twitter the next day was an added bonus. I am pretty sure I haven’t liked the winner of the season for the past like 5 seasons (if not longer). Still I can’t stop watching.

Project Runway Juniors // I didn’t watch this last year but I wasn’t done wanting to watch more Project Runway so when the real when off and this one came on I just kept going!! Those kids are really talented too.

The Great American Baking Show // I am not a baker. I can barely make cake. But I sure do love a good baking competition show. These men and women were so talented. I hadn’t even heard of half the desserts they had to make.

Top Chef // This is up there with Project Runway as my favorite reality show. This year it is old contestants and new contestants and I am still not sure how I feel about it. Still I love watching them make yummy food and have weird competitions.

The Affair // I have no idea why I still watch this show. It honestly annoys me. The characters are awful. But for some reason I cannot let it go. I need to know what happens to these people. I do like how each episode is split between two characters POVs that sometimes overlap and see the difference in how each perceives it.

Moana // We went as a family to see Moana and we all loved it. The colors, the music, and the story were all awesome. What wasn’t awesome:

La La Land // SO I have never gone to the movies by myself. That is until I decided to see La La Land and my husband didn’t want to. I must say it was glorious and I shall do it again. As for the movie I LOVED it. Totally deserving of all the praise.  Emma Stone and Ryan Goslingamazingazing.

What have you been watching lately?

  1. Oh man, I’m not a big fan of unlikable characters in books but in TV, I think it would drive me crazy even more so I’m steering clear of The Affair.

I shouldn’t laugh at you but dude, your youngest peed on you. Too funny! 🙂

I completely agree with your thoughts on Dexter, it was so good up until the last couple of seasons and don’t even get me started on the finale. Gah. So dumb!

  2. I’m so jealous that you got to see La La Land! I’m a big musical/dance number movie fan so I’ve been wanting to see this for so long. My husband says he will go but the kiddo has been sick so we haven’t been able to go. So glad to hear you loved it! I haven’t seen even one episode of Dexter yet. I was going to start it a while back but then everyone was so disappointed and mad at the ending that now I’m not sure if I want to. lol! My tastes are all over the place. I just got done watching Galivant and Stranger Things on Netflix recently and have been looking for something new to start.

  3. I don’t watch a ton of TV …mostly just the funny shows like Speechless and American Housewife when I’m home. Those are hilarious. 🙂 I do like the baking shows. I can’t bake, but it’s fun to watch them! haha

I also saw Moana and it was really cute. Love the music. I also loved La La Land. Glad you enjoyed seeing a movie on your own.

  4. I also love The Great American Baking Show! There’s something so soothing about any show that involves cooking or baking. I’ve heard great things about The Affair– although, everyone does say the characters are pretty despicable, like you mentioned (honestly, though, that probably means I’ll love it even more). I STILL haven’t seen Moana or La La Land! I’m the worst about keeping up with movies out in theaters. Both of them are on my list, though!
