Weekly Rewind

Weekly Rewind is a weekly feature where I will recap posts, books read, books bought and borrowed and whatever else from the past week. I’ve linked to The Sunday Post hosted by  Caffeinated Book Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by  Team Tynga’s Reviews.
It was a better week this week overall so yay! We are officially going to Disney again this year. We are becoming part of those people – the Disney people. And I think maybe I am ok with it. Otherwise it was a quiet week with just a little bit of snow. Last night we did go to dinner for my parents’ 50th anniversary. 50 years people!! And of course there is the Superbowl tonight. All I have to say is Go Peyton!! (although I am pretty sure he is going to lost 🙁 )

This week in blog posts

This week in reading

  • Finished: The Two of Us by Andy Jones
  • Finished: The Blue Hour by Douglas Kennedy
Stacking the Shelves

So I had an Amazon gift card I have been holding onto until some books went on sale and I could get a lot for my $$. Well, that day came and I got 7 books for about 27 bucks using my gift card and a promotional credit. It was a good week 🙂

My favorite pictures from my Instagram this week.

  3. 50th anniversary !!! That’s wonderful 😀 I see you’re reading The game plan, I read it last year, lost the review so I’ll have to read it again. Enjoy your new books and have a great week-end 🙂

  4. That’s a great deal. Love gift cards… and sales too. 🙂 Happy 50th to your parents- that’s an amazing milestone! And Disney is always good. 🙂

I’d like to see Peyton go out on top too. And Seven Ways to Lie looks good- that one’s new to me and I like the sound of it. Enjoy the game!!

  5. 50 years!!!! Your parents deserve congrats!!! MY parents are celebrating 50 this year, too!!! I’m trying to figure out how to celebrate for them – they DON’T want a party; they aren’t those type of people. I’m thinking a nice dinner with family out might be the way to go 🙂

OH!! You’re those people who go to Disney… yeah, I know people like you 😉 I know what you mean…

I’m rooting for Peyton, too!!! The guy has got the best sense of humor!!! He deserves a Superbowl win!!!

    • My parents didn’t want a party either! The dinner was really nice and they had a great time. The best part of the whole Disney thing is my husband and I aren’t huge fans. But with kids it is a whole different game now! So glad Peyton for his win!

I really envy all of you official “bookstagrammers.” Even when I try I have no concept of all those pretty pictures lol I see a book snap it and call it done! Then I see these gorgeous bookstagrams and I’m like “Oh…” Great post and of course, lovely pictures 🙂

I love using gift cards to buy a batch of books! It feels so good to save and get what you’ve been wanting. I hope you enjoy all of those too, there’s a couple of them on my list of books to try someday. And I’m following you on Instagram now! And twitter because I thought I already was, oops.
I got some pretty good books, one for my birthday and bought myself one as well!
    Have a good week!

  8. I’m so torn about the Super Bowl. I love Peyton but I’m a die hard Auburn fan and I love Cam so I think I’m leaning toward the Panthers. Plus my daughter’s at Auburn and I’m not sure she’d forgive me if I went any other way. But I’d be okay with Peyton winning too. You got some great books out of your gift card! The Lemon Pie book is calling me. I wanted to read her Coconut Cake book and so I’m adding this one to the list. Have a great week!

  9. 50 Years! Congrats to your parents….I don’t know many people who make it that long…lol.

Your new books look good…I enjoyed After I Do. In fact, I’ve loved everything from this author, and her newest one, One True Loves, is on my list.

Your blog says I have too many URLs…so you can find me from my Author’s Home Page, at Serendipity blog. lol Or from Kimberly’s post.

  10. Wow you cleaned up with that amazon gift card! I’ve been harboring gift cards I got for christmas and my birthday but, I refuse to buy anything until after The Winner’s Kiss comes out. Have fun when you go to Disney!!!! It’s totally ok to be one of those people at Disney because it’s the happiest place on earth (maybe aside from the Harry Potter studios in London, that seems like a happy place).

  11. I’m glad you had a good week, Grace. It’s wonderful you were able to celebrate 50 years with your parents. And Peyton got the win!! I’m a Peyton fan and was rooting for Denver, since I live in Colorado. 😉 It was a good game – not at all what I was expecting though. *ha* Looks like you picked up some good books. I can’t wait to see what you think of them and hope you’ll enjoy them all! Enjoy your week!

  12. Wow, I can’t remember the last time I went to Disney. It’s been years… and it’s practically in my backyard. Relatively speaking. LOL I’m in northeast FL so it’s pretty close and I’ve even done a day trip there and back (although it’s exhausting and I wouldn’t do it again). I have a Disney-obsessed (adult) niece in NC and it floors her that I’m so close and never go. 🙂 Congrats to your parent’s on 50 years! Isn’t it amazing. My parents have been married for 54 years and we had a big dinner party for their 50th, too. It was nice to see Peyton win. My husband is from NC and even he was pulling for Peyton. 🙂 I recently got The Distance From A to Z, too, and I’m looking forward to reading it. It sounds so good. I have Fans of the Impossible Life at home right now but it’s going to be due back to the library before I can get to it. * sad face *

  13. Well, you must be happy because I watched the half-time show and then went and did other things and then came to check in on the end of the game (my husband was watching) and there was Peyton celebrating with the team.
Look forward to seeing what you think about Extraordinary Means (had some issues with her first book, the name of which escapes me) and also Impossible Life (which I really liked!)
