I thought Ready Player One was an excellent audio. Wil Wheaton is perfect for the main character. The audio for Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda is on my ipod at the moment, and I’m hoping to get to it soon as I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.

I’m listening to Ready Player One right now – Wil Wheaton is the perfect narrator. So good. I’ve only read Jenny Lawson’s books, which are awesome, but I have a feeling they would go to a whole new level of awesomeness in audio form. I may have to listen to them. 🙂

  3. I don’t really listen to audiobooks but I’ve been meaning to try them for so long already 🙂 Ready Player One and The Night Circus have been on my TBR for a while now, so maybe I should start there. Also, I love Mindy Kaling and I do remember thinking when I read her first book that the audiobook would have been cool if she narrated it herself, so maybe I can listen to her second book instead of reading it!

  4. I have such a hard time focusing in on most audio books but I’ve started really getting into nonfiction audio books. I think I just really love having it read to me in the authors voice because it feels like they’re just telling me a story…especially the Aziz Ansari book!

  5. I have a really hard time listening to audiobooks, just can’t stay focused, but I do love nonfiction. Something about hearing it with the author’s inflection is just awesome to me lol. Love the Aziz Ansari book especially!

  6. I’m listening to the end of Furiously Happy right now and am loving it. I enjoyed the print version but the audio is even better. So much yes to In a Dark Dark Wood. I listened to it because of your recommendation and it was amazing. I’m looking forward to Ready Player One because – Wil Wheaton and I’m intrigued to see Salt in the Sea on your list. It’s on my TBR but now I need to see if I can get the audio.

Fabulous list!!! Sustained was one of my faves last year. I read it – not listened to it but now I’m curious to do a reread with the audio.
I did that with TSOT. Soooo, good!

  8. I’ve only listened to 2 audio books so far and they were both in the Game of Thrones series. I have had so many great recommendations this week my audible account it going to explode! Sustained has been so popular on the lists this week so I think I will start there. Thanks for the great list.

  9. I… have never read an audiobook actually! I have tried a few times, but my poor little brain can’t focus 😉 But I LOVE The Accident Season as just… a book I have read 😉 Cinder was good too, of course. And quite a few of these are on my “must-read” list! (You also reminded me to add Aziz Ansari’s book to my wishlist haha) Great list!

  10. I’m a big fan of audiobooks, Grace. I have a feature called Audio Obsession on my blog about all things audio. If you need recs feel free to ask me, or read it on my blog.

I’ve heard a lot of positive things about Michael Crouch’s narration. He narrated two books from you list: Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and Salt to the Sea. I’m definitely going to listen the latter in audio, since it’s also narrated by Jorjeana Marie, who is my favorite female narrator. Glad to hear you enjoyed the audiobook.

I was thinking to read The Sea of Tranquility, which is on my tbr-list like forever. Seeing as you liked the audiobook, I would probably go this route.

    Thanks for your great list!
