I am going to be participating in the Bookentine Readathon this year. You can find more information at the host Tea & Titles here but here is a quick summary from their post.
Bookentine is a genre specific readathon that focuses on contemporary novels and is usually set around the Valentine’s Day. Remember that a contemporary doesn’t necessarily mean a romance-heavy, beach read—we’ll be talking more about that in the future, though.
The definition of ‘contemporary’, as googled by us is: A contemporary YA novel is a story about a teenage character that takes place in our current time and deals with the concerns of modern day life.
The dates for 2017 are the 13th to the 20th of February. There are three challenges but overall, this is a relaxed readathon so they’re not something to stress about but rather just a fun way to help pick your TBR.
the challenges are:
- Read a book with red and/or pink on the cover,
- Read a book by an author you haven’t read before,
- Read a book featuring mental illness or disability.
We’ll also be using the hashtag #Bookentine, if you want to join in on social media!
So today I want to share my TBR for the readathon.
Read a book with red and/or pink on the cover – Seven Days of You
Read a book by an author you haven’t read before – The Hate U Give
Read a book featuring mental illness or disability – When We Collided
Extra – All the Forever Things
I am not sure what kind of reading week I will have and what I will get to but I am excited for all of these.
